Vote YES on Measure K for Keppel Kids

EVERY child deserves to learn in safe, modern school facilities. Help make it true for ALL the youngest learners in OUR community. VOTE YES on Measure K for Keppel Union TK-8 schools.

Our TK-8 elementary schools are aging and in dire need of repairs. Keppel Union’s oldest school was built 104 years ago, and health and safety repairs are needed at all schools. Failing septic tanks often back up, interrupting teaching and learning. Many schools need basic security upgrades to keep our children and teachers safe and protect from injury or outside threats. Other nearby school districts have local funding to upgrade their schools and classrooms, but Keppel Union does not.

We need to fix these issues. Measure K will help. OUR children deserve the same access to quality schools as other children in nearby districts. No other funding currently exists to address these needs.

Passage of Measure K will:

• Repair deteriorating electrical, gas lines, plumbing, leaky roofs, and restrooms
• Remove asbestos, lead paint, and mold if needed
• Improve school safety for fire, security, emergency communications, and security cameras
• Replace failing septic tanks, and deteriorating HVAC systems
• Provide local children access to a well-rounded education in adequate classrooms
• Improve early childhood education classrooms
• Help recruit and retain teachers

Taxpayer protections are REQUIRED:

• ALL funds STAY LOCAL. The State CANNOT take this funding away.
• Citizens’ Oversight and mandatory independent audits ensure proper spending.
• NO funds are allowed for administrators’ salaries.

Whether you have school-age children or not, protecting the quality of our neighborhood schools is a wise investment. That’s why teachers, parents, school leaders and residents across EVERY Keppel USD school community are VOTING YES on K.
